HOSTAGE NEGOTIATOR BASE GAME
In Hostage Negotiator, you play the part of a law enforcement agent responsible for negotiating the release of hostages taken by an unscrupulous figure hell-bent on having his or her demands met.
Each turn in the game represents a conversation between you and the hostage taker. You'll play cards and roll dice to increase conversation points, decrease the threat level, and release hostages. Hostage Negotiator uses a unique "hand-building" mechanism that puts cards you purchase directly in your hand for next turn rather than leaving you wondering when the cards will show up like in deck-building games.
In Hostage Negotiator there are multiple paths to victory, but the hostage taker has other plans. Will you try to calm him and get him to surrender? Will you stall and bide your time before sending in the team for a major extraction? How many hostages will you save? These are many of the exciting decisions you will make in a game of Hostage Negotiator!
HOSTAGE NEGOTIATOR CRIME WAVE
In Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave — a standalone expansion to the solitaire game Hostage Negotiator — each turn represents a conversation between you and a hostage taker. You play cards and roll dice to increase conversation points, decrease the threat level, and release hostages.
Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave uses the same "hand-building" mechanism found in Hostage Negotiator that puts cards you purchase directly in your hand for next turn, but it features new Conversation Cards, new Terror Cards, new Pivotal Events, and all new Abductors — each with new rules and new demands! It can be played right out of the box and also expands the original Hostage Negotiator.

HOSTAGE NEGOTIATOR CAREER
Hostage Negotiator: Career is an expansion for the Hostage Negotiator system that requires the Hostage Negotiator base game, Hostage Negotiator: Crime Wave, and multiple Abductor Packs to play.
In this culmination of the Hostage Negotiator series, you will play ten years in the life of a negotiator — that is, if you don't retire in shame sooner. In each "year" or campaign round of the game, you will resolve a career card that presents you with some narrative event that relates to or could impact your career based on the choice you make. Then, in most but not all years, you will be called to the scene of the latest hostage situation. Now, the result of each negotiation will impact the overall campaign and you'll be tracking your career stress, your personal stress, your merit level (for promotions), and your rank, among other things.
After the negotiation, you resolve a personal card and are once again faced with a narrative event to resolve and, based on the result of your negotiation in that "year", will be rewarded (or reprimanded) accordingly.
