UFO Robot Grendizer is a Super Robot TV anime and manga created by manga artist Go Nagai. It is the third entry in the Mazinger trilogy. It was broadcast on Japanese television from October 5, 1975, to February 27, 1977, and lasted 74 episodes.[1][2] The robot's first appearance in the United States was as a part of the Shogun Warriors line of super robot toys imported in the late 1970s by Mattel, then in Jim Terry's Force Five series, both under the title Grandizer. It is still widely popular in the Middle East, and it was especially popular in France and Quebec, as well as among French speaking Canadians in the province of New Brunswick, where it was aired under the title Goldorak. In Italy, the series was as popular and known as Goldrake.
KING GORI from the UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER series by Go Nagai, is the first Vega Beast to appear in the TV Series. KING GORI is the only villain who could nearly defeat the giant hero by tearing up his arms during a fierce battle, a confrontation that lasted 2 episodes, 52 & 53. Duke Fleed could only survive thanks to his friends and sister, Koji, Hikaru, and Maria.
King Gori resembles a gigantic gorilla adorned in brown armor with yellow accents including a spiked helmet with a pair of yellow spikes coming out of the sides on its head and one drill tipped horn coming out of the top.
King Gori possesses a strong animal instinct attacking a target without mercy. King Gori possesses super strength relative to its size able to throw a robot in its height class around with little resistance. Its armor gives King Gori an impressive defense that most attacks cannot penetrate. The drill on top of its head can also be used offensively, usually in the form of a headbutt.
