AN EXTRAORDINARY LIMITED EDITION
Only 350 pieces were ever produced worldwide, making Gandalf & Frodo one of the most exclusive pieces in the Wētā Workshop Masters Collection.
Sculpted by Steven Saunders, the statue was created using original 3Foot6 Art Department drawings and blueprints from the production of The Lord of the Rings. These original references were digitally overlaid during the sculpting process to ensure the cart and characters remained faithful to their cinematic counterparts.
The result is more than a statue—it is a meticulously researched piece of Middle-earth production history.
DETAILS THAT REWARD A CLOSER LOOK
Wētā Workshop went far beyond simply recreating what appeared on screen.
Every element of Gandalf's cart was carefully considered, including the individually sculpted fireworks. Where possible, each firework was replicated directly from its film counterpart. Additional designs were developed from original conceptual artwork that had never appeared on screen, giving collectors details that even the most astute Lord of the Rings fan may discover only after taking a closer look.
The craftsmanship continues throughout the piece, with physical retexturing and detailing applied to the resin 3D print by Wētā Workshop model-makers David Tremont and Leonard Ellis.
Even the back wall of the cart can be opened, revealing additional detail and making this an especially rewarding display piece.
From the smallest firework to the construction of the cart itself, no stone, sword, or signpost was left unturned.
